Muhammad Aamir Hussain Khan born on 14 March 1965 in Mumbai, India, famous with the name of Aamir Khan. He is a famous Indian Film Actor and Producer.His career remains so successful that he has won a lot of national and international Awards and established himself as the most popular and influential actor of Indian cinema.

Aamir Khan’s Family background and Early life

Aamir Khan is the son of a film producer, Tahir Hussain. His mother name is Zeenat Hussain.Most of his family is associated to Indian film industry. His uncle Nasir Hussain was a famous film producer and director.Aamir khan has one brother, Faisal Khan and two sisters, Farhat Khan and Nikhat Khan.Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan is also a famous contemporary hindi film actor. Aamir Khan appeared in minor roles when he was just eight years old, in a film “Yaadon ki Baaraat” in 1973 made by his uncle Nasir Hussain, and after one year in film Madhosh produced by his father.

Aamir Khan went to J.B Petit School for his early education and then joined St. Anne’s High School, Bandra and studied there till eight grade and for ninth and tenth grade he went to the Bombay Scottish School, Mahim.Aamir is a good tennis player and played tannis in state level championship.

He went to Narsee Monjee College for the completion of his 12th grade.Aamir mentioned his childhood as a tough one because of financial problems of his family. His father career in film industry was remained unsuccessful and the creditors were always knocking the door for their money.When Aamir was of 16 years old he worked as a lead hero in a 40-minutes silent film “Paranoia” directed by his school friend Aditya Bhattacharya.Aamir Khan’s family opposed his joining film because of his father experience and they wanted him to become an engineer or a doctor.Aamir joined a theatre called Avantar, and also worked in the backstage for some time. His first debut on the stage was a Gujarati play “Kesar Bina” at Pritvi theatre.He worked there in two hindi plays and an english play whose title was “Clearing House”.

Aamir married Reena Dutta on 18 April, 1986. she also played a small part in “Qayamat sy Qayamat tak”. Aamir have two children from Reena, Aamir divorced Reena in December, 2002. Reena took both the children in her own custody. Khan married Kiran Rao on 28 December, 2005, his second marriage, both have a child through a surrogate mother.

Aamir Khan also worked in some documentaries in his student life, then Director Ketan Mehta offered him a role in a film Holi, 1984. Aamir Khan started to act in just one or two films a year, then an uncommon characteristic for a conventional Hindi cinema actor. In 1996, “Raja Hindustani”was the only film of Aamir Khan in the whole year was released, directed by Dharmesh Darshan, Aamir won the first Film-fare award of Best Actor and this film remained the biggest hit of the year and a commercial blockbuster as well as the third-highest grossing Indian film of the 1990s.Another blockbuster film of Aamir was Lagaan (2001), This film was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 74th Academy Awards.Another blockbuster and highest grossing film of Khan was Rang De Basanti in 2006, Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. He earned a Film-fare Critics Award for Best Actor and various nominations for Best Actor.This film was selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars. Although the film was not nominated for the Oscar, but nominated for Best Foreign Film at the BAFTA Awards in England. His film Taare Zameen Par (2007) was his debut as a director. Another commercial success of Aamir khan was Ghajini (2008), which was also highest grossing Bollywood movie of that year.

Another blockbuster film of Aamir khan in 2009 was his 3 Idiots, which remained a big success and a highest grossing Bollywood film of all time in India. and also became a major success in East Asian markets, finally earned its overseas total to US$25 million—the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in overseas markets.

This film earned a lot of awards. winning six Film-fare Awards including best film award and best director award, It also won ten Star Screen Awards and sixteen II FA Awards.In 2014, Khan played an alien character in Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy-drama PK. The film received critical acclaim and become as the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.

Aamir Khan set up a production company in 2001, which is known as Aamir Khan Productions. The films has been produced by the company till now are, Lagaan (2001), a documentary film by khan “Madness in the Desert”. Taree Zameen pe (2007), Jaane tu ya Jaane na (2008), Dhobi Ghaat in 2011 and Talaash in 2012 which was a joint production with Excel Entertainment.

Aamir khan on Television

Aamir also worked on Television, his debut on the Television was a talk show “Satyamev Jayte” based on discussion on social issues like female foeticide, child sexual abuse and dowry plaguing Indian society.
