Bernard Bernie Sanders served the American nation as a politician and the junior United States Senator. He was born on 8th of September of the year 1941 in New York, America. Bernie belonged to a middle-class family; his father belonged to a Jewish family; they migrated to New York while many of his relatives got killed in the Holocaust in Poland. His father was a paint salesperson. Bernie went to a high school in Brooklyn. In his high school, he earned fame in the basketball team. Then he was enrolled in James Madison High School in Brooklyn, he participated in the one-mile indoor race in New York and secured the third position. In the year 1959 when he just completed his graduation at the high school, Bernie got a high voltage jerk when his mother passed away at the age of forty-six. Later just after the three years of his mother’s death his father died at the age of 57 on 4th of August of the year 1962. Two years later in the year 1964, Bernie graduated in the bachelor of arts degree from the University of Chicago.

In the year 1964, Bernie married his college friend, Deborah Shilling. They bought a house in his city, Vermont. Together they lived two years, but they had no children and announced their separation in the year 1966. Bernie’s girlfriend, Usan Campbell Mot gave birth to his child in the year 1969. Later, in the year 1988, Bernie married Jane O’Meara Driscoll, who was following known as the president of Burlington College. They had three children Dave Driscoll, Carina Driscoll, and Heather Titus and later they were blessed with seven grandchildren.


Political Career of Bernie Sanders

After his graduation, Bernie moved back to his city and started working as a documentary filmmaker and also as a carpenter as part-time jobs. The unfairness in the society led him to politics. Eugene V. Debs worked as his inspirational chapter towards the policy. He is the best politician who has served America for so long as an independent politician. In early 1980’s he made his debut in politics as a mayor and served Burlington. In the year 1981, he was elected as the mayor of Burlington as first of four terms by ten votes. Later he won a seat in the House of Representatives, so he moved to the national political arena. During the reign of Bernie’s Mayor-ship Burlington became one of the fascinating small cities. He worked for better living facilities women’s right, child care, and environmental protection. Throughout his reign, Bernie had always used to work for the middle class to provide them with better living means. From the year 1991 to the year 2007, Bernie he made himself iconic as an independent politician. As he introduced himself to the United States’ Senate in the year 2005 on 21st of April. In 2007’s Senate elections, he won the seat then he was again re-elected in the year 2012 with 71% of the total votes.


In the year 2011, Public Policy Polling was held in the month of August where he became the third most popular senator in the country with 67% of positive rating. Regarding the health care system, he passed legislation in the year 2014. He worked for the energy system, as the conversion of fossil fuels to solar and the wind which is known as renewable power sources, as a member of Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He worked for affordable better health facilities, education facilities, labor and better schools. In the year 2015, Bernie announced to be known as a Democrat from now on and announced that he would appear as a Democrat in the future elections. Besides that, different journals such as PBS and CBS News declared him as a Democrat.
