Hope solo, real name is Hope Amelia Solo born on July 30, 1981.  Hope solo is giving her services as a goalkeeper for American women soccer team since 2000. During this period, she has done her job terrifically. She remained two-time gold medalist during this period. Before playing for the national team, she played for the University of Washington soccer team at her college level.  Besides all this, Hope Solo also remained the part of Philadelphia Charge, Saint Louis Athletica, Atlanta Beat and magic jack. In these days, She is playing for Seattle Reign FC in the National Women Soccer League.

Hope Solo ranked as the no.1 female goalkeeper in the world because of her impressive goalkeeping in FIFA Women’s World cup 2015.  In 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she helped led the American soccer team to reach the semifinal as she just given 2 goals in 4 games. But in the semifinal, she was not selected as the part of American team due to some controversial decision of the coach, and U.S soccer team was defeated from Brazil by 4-0 score.  After defeated in semifinal once she decided to left the soccer, but she came back strongly and assist U.S women soccer team to became an Olympic gold medalist in 2008 and 2012. In FIFA Women’s world cup 2011 she performed exceptionally throughout the World Cup. She Helped U.S women soccer team to defeat Brazil in the quarter-final at penalty kicks. She received the best goalkeeper award of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011 as well as Golden glove. Solo also took the Bronze Ball award for performing consistently in the overall tournament.

After getting all this achievement in FIFA women’s world cup 2011, she got the second Olympic gold medal at 2012 Olympics. In FIFA Women’s world cup 2015 she again awarded as the best goalkeeper of the world cup, also she awarded the Golden Glove because of her exceptional goalkeeping throughout the tournament. Solo is again impressive and most goal saving keeper of this FIFA Women’s World cup 2015, standing as the best goalkeeper of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015.

Early Life of Solo:

Solo’s early life was full of interest and very excited, as she was so much attached with her father Jeffery Solo.  Solo’s father Jeffery Solo taught tricks and tips of football at her early age, which led him towards professional soccer. At her age of six, her father and mother disconnected with each other in case of divorce, and she started living with her mother.  When she started college life at the University of Washington, Hope Solo rejoined the relation with her father. Hope Solo’s father left a great influence in her life and her father died of heart attack on June 2007.

Hope solo scored 109 goals at Richland High School, as she was playing as a forward player at that time and led her team for winning 3 consecutive league titles (1996-1998).

Washington Huskies:

When Solo attended the University of Washington from 1999 to 2002, she became goalkeeper permanently under the teachings of Coach Lesle Gallimore. According to Solo Statement, she was feeling better at the goalkeeper position, she learned how to save the goal and how to read the mind of opponent striker.  She added that her athletic ability make her perfect goalkeeper. She also got tactics how to keep focus all ninety minutes. She made a history in Pac-10 at her college career as she stood four times All Pac-10 selection by saving more than 300 goals.  Beside this all, she also awarded as Pac-10 of the year. Solo was the 1st woman of Washington University and the 1st goalkeeper ever, who awarded Pac-10 player of the year.

Club Career of Hope Solo:

Hope solo make her place in Philadelphia Charge club because of her college career and fame. She wasn’t been the part of few games of her first professional season. Solo played her first professional season match against Atlanta Beat. After that she remained the part of many other games in Europe, she stated her experience for Europe, “I enjoyed playing in Europe not just because of my teammates also from the European fans as well”. She added, that it was the best time in my life it really realized me a true person and player in me.

SOLO’S WPS YEARS AND SAINT LOUIS ATHLETICA:

At the end of 2008 Solo became the part of Saint Louis Athletica with her three more national players in WPS. She got numerous awards during this season, here I want to mention few of them in this biography, later on I will write a brief biography of her awards in few days and more other women soccer player’s awards as well.

Here is the list of her awards during 2009 season of soccer.

  • She awarded as the WPS Goalkeeper of the year.
  • She named as the 1st goalkeeper of the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete player of the year, as this is the highest honor award for the soccer players.

Hope Solo WPS Years and Atlanta Beat:

Solo left the Saint Louis Athletica in 2010, and she with other two of her Saint Louis teammates joined the Atlanta Beat. She usually wear the no.1 shirt all the way, but she remained unlucky at that time, she missed no.1 shirt and wore no.78 for Atlanta.

In beginning of the 2011 women’s professional soccer season, Solo joined for Magic Jack. Due to her shoulder surgery she missed a specific part of the season.  She left Magic jack at the end of 2012.

Seattle Sounders Women (2012):

In early 2012 she signed with the Seattle Sounders Women. The other national teammates Alex Morgan, Sydney and Megan also joined the Seattle Sounders Women. The head coach Amy Carnell stated about Solo, “Solo is one of the best goalkeepers of the soccer”.  Seattle fans were expecting something exceptional in that season of 2012. Solo showed her mind-blowing skills during that season, the goal Avg. was so low almost 0.344 against her.

Solo firstly joined the Jr. U.S. national soccer teams and afterward she joined the Senior National Soccer team in 2000. She became the first choice goalkeeper ever she joined National soccer team. Her career is all the way exceptional.

Olympics 2008 Solo Performance:

Solo had been chosen for the Olympics 2008 and due to her exceptional performance in final by stopping the powerful attack of Brazil, U.S national soccer team defeated the Brazil in the extra time by 1-0.

 FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011:

She performed her best role in 2011 FIFA Women’s world cup, as she stopped the penalty kick against Brazil in the quarter final. She became the 2nd American women soccer player who got 100 caps after winning the semifinal match against France. In the final match U.S. Women soccer team lost the final in result of penalty shoots 3-1. She was awarded the Golden Glove and Bronze Ball due to her outstanding performance.

Hope Solo Olympics 2012:

Solo again played a vital role in the success of Olympics 2012 and defended their title. She consistently performed in the group matches with keeping 3 clean sheets against Colombia, Korea and New Zealand. U.S won all those three matches without giving a goal to the opponent.

Solo’s 2015 world cup is mind blowing, exceptional, outstanding and I think I am unable to write about her admiration. She is absolutely amazing in this mega event of FIFA Women’s World cup 2015. If I say it is the ever best performance in the history of Soccer as goalkeeper it wouldn’t be wrong. She saved 12 goals and assisting the U.S. team to make their place in final. She is unable to save 3 goals in this mega event of FIFA Women’s World cup 2015, which two of them are in the final match against Japan. She holds the place as the top saver of this FIFA Women’s World cup 2015 and best goalkeeper as well. She again became the best goalkeeper of the women soccer. Once again Solo achieved the golden glove in this FIFA Women’s world cup 2015.

Personal Life of Hope Solo:

Personal life of Hope solo begins in 2012, when she married to a former American soccer player Jerramy Stevens, after she returned from the Olympics. The pair married in November 2012.
