Shahid Afridi Biography

Shahid Afridi full name is Sahibzada Mohammed Shahid Khan Afridi, was born on March 1st, 1980. His current age is 35 years. He belongs to Khyber Agency Fata (KPK). He is famous with his nickname Boom Boom Afridi, or people also do love to call him Lala (brother). He is right handed batsman and right arm leg spinner. He got 6 feet height with strong attractive muscles. He does play in Pakistani team as an all-rounder. He is one of the most known sportsman athletes not just in Pakistan, but all over the world as well. He considered as the legend of Pakistan cricket of all the time. He also got fame due to his aggressive batting approach. He always a sign of threatened for the opponent.

Shahid Afridi Family

Shahid Afridi born in a noble and famous family of Pashtun. His father name is Sahabzada Fazl-ur-Rehman Afridi. Shahid Afridi got married with Nadia Afridi, and the couple has four daughters. Here are the name of Afridi’s daughters: Aqsa Afridi, Ansha Afridi, Ajwa Afridi, and Asmara Afridi. His brother (cousin) Javed Afridi is a famous personality of Pakistan, as he is the CEO Haier Pakistan company.

International career

The Boom Boom Shahid Khan Afridi made his Test debut against Australia in 1998 and also played his jobs last test match against the Australia in 2010. He made his ODI debut against the Kenya and played his last ODI against Australia in 2015 ICC cricket world cup quarter final, and he is now the captain of Pakistan national cricket team for T20 format. He made his t-20 debut against England, and he played his last t20 against England at Sharjah 2015. He is looking forward to winning the 2016 t-20 world cup for his nation. He previously held the record of the fastest century on 37 balls against Sri Lanka in his very second one-day international. He has also taken most wickets in t20 international 86 wickets which are still counting on ahead. He had hit the most number of sixes in ODI almost 650 sixes in his whole career, and he also has the record to smash the longest distance six in the cricket history. He had also taken over 350 wickets in one-day international. He was the only batsman who scored 50 or taken five wickets. He did that two times in his one-day career. His best score in ODI is 124 against Bangladesh and his best bowling figure in the one-day international is 7/23 which was against the west indies.

Domestic career

Shahid Khan Afridi represented Karachi region and a member of Karachi Dolphins and played Quid-e-Azam trophy from HBL. He always remain a key player for his domestic side as well as International side.


Shahid afridi has also represented for different sides in league matches around the globe. He played for Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League, contracted with Deccan Charges in IPL and also served Dhaka Gladiators in the BPL first edition. He is looking forward to becoming a successful captain for Peshawar Zalmi. He is one of the six icon players for the pakistan Super League, and he is the member of his cousin team Peshawar Zalmi. He is looking forward for win the psl for peshawar zalmi the pride team of KPK.

Charity Work

UNICEF and Pakistani authority has given Shahid Afridi a polio mission in tribal areas of wazristan. There is also the charity foundation of Afridi, Shahid Khan Afridi foundation. He also played matches for the charity purpose and for fund raising to help and support poor communities.
