Wayne Parnell Cricketer Biography


Wayne Parnell is one of the famous cricketers in the South Africa, born on July 30, 1989, in Port Elizabeth South Africa. His full name is Wayne Dillon Parnell and known by the name of Wayne Parnell. He also got the nickname as Pigeon, and another name he owns Waleed after converting to Muslim. He is giving his services for the South cricket team in all of the formats of cricket, in ODI, in Test Cricket, and in T20 as well. Domestic Career


Wayne Parnell is a medium pace left arm bowler. Started his career early in 2006 from the first class cricket. He has remained the part of the Eastern Province (2006), Warriors (2008) and the Kent (2009) for the domestic leagues. Apart from the domestic cricket he has also played in IPL for the Dehli Daredevils (2010&2014) and Pune Warriors (2011– 2013). He has also performed for Sussex in an English county. The Wayne Parnell in 2011 converted to the Muslim religion and changed his name to Waleed, which means Newly born son.

International Career


Wyane Parnell has been the part of South Africa Under 19 team. He also remained the captain of Under 19 South Africa Cricket team. He played 2006 and 2008 ICC Under 19 World Cup for South Africa cricket team. He was the leading wicket taker of 2008 ICC Under 19 World Cup. He took 18 wickets with an Avg. of 8.40. After the successfull journey of First-class and Under 19 cricket, he easily paved his ways for the International cricket. He started the International cricket in T20 Format, when he selected in South African cricket squad against Australia series. He debuted in T20 International on 13 January 2009 versus Australia. In the same series he debuted for the One Day International on 30 January 2009 versus Australia. After tremendous performance in ODI, and T20 International he also debuted in Test cricket on 14 January 2010 against England. He is an exceptional talent in bowling as well as in batting. He had done his matriculation from the Grey high school, which is located in Port Elizbeth. He had also studied and learned the Human Resource Management in 2009 from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, which is also located in the Port Elizbeth South Africa.
